Lahore is a historic city rich in tradition. It has experienced three significant eras in its history – the Mughul Empire, British colonial, and now the modern city of Pakistan. With new eras in history came new designs and developments - which have all added and enriched the fabric of its busy, bustling city. Of particular note, is the Walled City of Lahore, which is one of the most densely populated areas and the oldest Lahore from the Mughal era.
Lahore is Lahore, because of Lahoris!

Lahore is a city which is welcoming to all. The hustle and bustle of the city keep you entertained while the hospitality of the Lahoris make you feel at home. Out of the total population of Lahore, 87% of them speak Punjabi; in many different dialects which makes for a diverse speaking population. Besides Punjabi Urdu – the national language and English which is the official language is widely spoken and understood people. So language is not a constraint in Lahore.
Lahore is a city of youth with over 40% of its inhabitants below the age of 15.
Lahoris love to eat and if you are invited home for lunch, be prepared because they will make you eat. So Lahoris may be called by some a FOODIE CULT...! Once you join, you can resist eating.
Keeping in mind the hospitality of Lahoris, there is still a chance that if you ask for directions, you may get them wrong, it's not that they do it on purpose, it's just they can't refuse to help and this what makes them try even if they do not know.

Lahoris right now: "Been there, done that!"....... So be careful!
Majority of Lahoris mostly Sunni or Shia making 94% of the total population of the city. The remaining 6% are mostly Christians. A small fraction of Sikh and Hindu population also adds to the diversity of this desi city.
Lahore’s contribution to national GDP rounds up to 11.5pc.
Like most vibrant urban cities, the economy of Lahore is largely service-oriented. It is worrisome to see a decline in the share of the manufacturing sector. In addition to that, too much urbanization has led to a drastic drop in agricultural land. Reducing its contribution to one per cent which is also mainly because of the increased livestock.
The Lahoris are lively, a cultural bunch of people celebrating many festivals around in the year – some religious, some historical and some are combinations of ancient and modern- even western – celebrations.

Basant: (Jashn-e-Baharaan) (celebrated by locals in Spring)

Mela Chiraghan
a three-day annual festival to mark the urs(death anniversary) of the
Punjabi Sufi poet and saint Shah Hussain.

National Horse and Cattle Show: (Activities in the event include cattle races, cattle dances, tent pegging, tattoo show, folk music, dances, bands, cultural floats and folk games.)

World Performing Arts Festival: (The World Performing Arts Festival is a beautiful effort of various artistic disciplines such as Dance, Puppetry, Music, Film and Theatre, but more so it is a glorious coming together of the peoples and cultures of the world. Over 10 Days in the historic city of Lahore, Pakistan, artists, press and audiences from around the country and come together to celebrate the universality of the arts.)

Lahore International Conference on Culture: (Lahore International Conference on Culture will bring together a range of research scholars, practitioners and learners to discuss new orders of Cultural Diversity, Multicultural Cities for Sustainable Development, learning the art of Living Together for Social Cohesion and Cultural Diversity, Preservation of Tangible & Intangible Cultural Heritage and role of Media in promoting Culture for Nationalism, Cultural Entrepreneurship & Culture for Economic Development.)

Faiz Mela: (Faiz Aman Mela is being held annually since 1992 in Lahore, like the one of a major celebration of Faiz’s birthday anniversary.)
The average life expectancy stands at less than 60 years of age. Maybe because of the high cholesterol diet.
